Vahe Tovmasyan, a renowned Armenian actor, comedian, and showman, has left an indelible mark on various artistic fields. His exceptional talent and intellectual prowess have propelled him to stardom in Armenia and beyond.

Early Life and Education

On July 15, 1986, Vahegan (Vahe) was born in Yerevan, Armenia, to Zhanna Harutyunyan. Growing up with his brother Vahan, who later became a comedian and actor, Vahe exhibited a keen interest in entertainment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vahe entertained audiences with "Tovmasyans," a family-based comedy reality show. Upon graduating from Yerevan's Siamanto Secondary School No. 162, Vahe pursued a degree in Computer Science at the Yerevan State University of Economics. During his studies, he became editor of the university's KVN student league.

Creative Career

Tovmasyan's career has been intertwined with television from a young age. He served as an actor and writer for shows such as "32 Teeth," "Three Walls," and "Vitamin Club." He also worked creatively on children's programs, including "Disorder," and wrote scripts for "Two Stars." His resume includes directing the TV series "Our Yard" and hosting "Good Morning" and "Sing If You Can." Embracing stand-up comedy, Vahe has entertained audiences both in Armenia and the United States. Additionally, he has acted in films and series such as "The Incredible Adventures of an American in Armenia," "Stone Cage," "In the Army," "Golden School," and "Corn." His work as a producer includes the film "Stone Cage."

Personal Life

On January 25, 2017, Vahe Tovmasyan's personal life blossomed with the birth of his daughter, Mia, with his wife Gayane Manukyan. Manukyan, who studied journalism in Moscow and filmmaking in Los Angeles, returned to Armenia in 2012. The couple's social media pages are adorned with numerous photos of their daughter. While they no longer post public photos together or wear wedding rings, they maintain a cordial relationship and jointly raise their child.

Cannes Premiere and Current Endeavors

On May 21, 2024, Sean Baker's dramedy "Anora" premiered in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival, ultimately winning the prestigious Palme d'Or. The film featured Vahe Tovmasyan alongside Mikey Madison, Mark Edelstein, Yuri Borisov, Alexei Serebryakov, and Karen Karagulyan.
