Vahid Cehajic: The Bosnian Football Fan's Epic Journey
Vahid Cehajic, a devoted Bosnian football fan, embarked on an extraordinary journey to celebrate his beloved team's victory in an unconventional way.

The Champions League Promise
In 2010, Vahid made a bold declaration. If his team, Bayern Munich, won the Champions League five times, he would walk 600 miles to their hometown of Munich on foot. The journey would symbolically represent Bayern's five championship victories.

A Unique Celebration
As a devout Muslim, Vahid abstained from alcohol and found walking through Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Germany a more fitting way to honor Bayern's triumph. However, Bayern's defeat by Inter Milan in 2010 spared him from the arduous task.
Unfulfilled Promises
Bayern's loss to Chelsea in the 2012 Champions League final, despite an initial draw, was another disappointment for Vahid. But it wasn't until Bayern's fifth victory in 2013 that the 45-year-old fan set his plan in motion.
The Pilgrimage Begins
On June 10, 2013, Vahid began his journey from Bugojno, dressed in Bayern colors. The arduous trek lasted over a month, culminating at the Allianz Arena in Munich on July 22, just in time for Bayern's match against Barcelona.
Triumph and Tribulation
Bayern's resounding victory over Barcelona was a fitting reward for Vahid's dedication. However, the 42-day journey took a toll on his feet, requiring hospitalization. Each day, Vahid walked approximately 14 miles and lost 12 kilograms of weight.
Homeward Bound
After the match, Vahid returned home, understandably opting for a bus ride this time. Whether he will ever make a similar pledge in the future remains uncertain, but one epic journey is likely to suffice for this unwavering fan.
