Early Life and Education
Valentin Ivanovich Yezhov was born in Ukraine and developed a passion for architecture from a young age. In 1949, he graduated with honors from the Architectural Faculty of the Kyiv Artistic Institute, where he studied under the renowned architect Iosif Yulievich Karakis.
Professional Career
Early Work and ResearchYezhov began his career as an architect in Sevastopol. From 1953 to 1963, he pursued postgraduate studies and worked as a research associate at the Academy of Architecture of the Ukrainian SSR.
Leadership at KievZNIIEP
In 1963, Yezhov became the head of a sector at KievZNIIEP (now the Ukrainian Zonal Research and Design Institute for Civil Construction), eventually rising to the position of chief architect.
Director of KievNIITIA
From 1976 to 1981, Yezhov served as the director of KievNIITIA, where he played a key role in developing the city's architecture.
Chief Architect of Kyiv
In 1981, Yezhov was appointed as the chief architect of Kyiv, a pivotal position in shaping the urban landscape.
Academic and Creative Pursuits
Teaching and LeadershipFrom 1987, Yezhov headed the Department of Architectural Fundamentals and Architectural Design at the Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute. In 1991, he established the "Creative Architectural Workshop "Yezhov"", later known as the "Architectural Bureau "Yezhov"".
Research and Publications
Yezhov authored over 200 scientific works, including several monographs on architectural design and construction.
