Early Career

In the late 1950s, Harper embarked on her career as a dancer in Broadway musicals. She appeared in productions such as "Take Me Along" and "Subways Are For Sleeping" in the early 1960s. Harper also participated in the musical "Wildcat," where she worked with renowned actor Lucille Ball. She gained recognition for her role in the film "Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers."

In 2001, Harper returned to Broadway, replacing Linda Lavin in the musical "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife."
