Sergiy Karjakin is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster and former Ukrainian champion. He has achieved significant success in the sport of chess, earning the prestigious grandmaster title.
Early Life and Education
Karjakin was born in Simferopol, Ukraine, on January 12, 1990. He displayed exceptional talent in chess from a young age, winning the Ukrainian Youth Chess Championship at the age of 12. Karjakin went on to graduate from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Chess Career
Karjakin's chess career has been marked by numerous accomplishments. In 2007, he became the Ukrainian Chess Champion. He has also competed in several world championships, including the FIDE World Chess Championship and the World Blitz Chess Championship.
Personal Life
On July 17, 2010, Karjakin married Irina. Together, they have a son named Ivan, who was born on March 9, 2012. Karjakin currently resides in Ukraine with his family.
