Early Life and Education

Valery Levenko was born on December 27, 1944 in Kerch, Crimean ASSR. After working in manufacturing from 1964 to 1971, he graduated from the poetry department of the Maxim Gorky Literary Institute in 1976.

Seafaring and Journalism

Following his education, Levenko served as a sailor on merchant vessels. He also worked as a journalist and correspondent for the newspaper "Kerchensky Rabochy." In Kerch, he held positions at the public information center and the V.G. Belinsky Library.

Literary Career

Levenko writes exclusively in Russian. He has authored several poetry collections, including "When the Sun Smiles," "On the Good Earth," "Soul's Mooring," "Coordinates of Courage," and "Through the Past Rains." His poems have also been published in various almanacs, collective anthologies, and journals, including the anthology of Russian poetry "Eternal Pillars of Being: Love and Beauty."

Levenko's works focus on his hometown, nature, the sea, and historical events. He has received accolades for his writing, including the International Literary Prize named after S. Polotsky (2004) and recognition as "Writer of July 2013" by the expert council of the Crimean Literary Academy.

Levenko is a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (2003), the Union of Writers of Crimea, and the Union of Writers of Russia (2016).
