Boris Andriyevich Plakhotnik was born on January 17 (29), 1898 in Moscow, Russia. He embarked on his theatrical journey in 1913 at the Sergievsky People's House. From 1923 to 1933, he played a pivotal role as an actor and co-founder of the Moscow Trade Union Council Theater (MOSPS).

Theater Career in Kyiv and Kharkiv

In 1935-36, Plakhotnik worked in theaters in Kyiv. From 1936 to 1962, he dedicated his talent to the Russian Drama Theaters in Kharkiv. Notable performances include Shadrina in Pogodin's "The Man with the Gun," Sily in Vishnevsky's "Optimistic Tragedy," Bessemyonov in Gorky's "The Philistines," and Murzavetsky in Ostrovsky's "Wolves and Sheep."
