Vera Kostrovitskaya, a renowned ballerina, pedagogue, and Honored Artist of the Russian SFSR, began her journey at the Petrograd Choreographic School under the tutelage of Olga Preobrazhenskaya and Agrippina Vaganova.
Dance Career
From 1923 to 1937, Kostrovitskaya graced the stage as a ballerina at the Kirov Theater. Her exceptional talent and dedication earned her recognition as a virtuoso dancer.
Transition to Teaching
In 1937, Kostrovitskaya decided to retire from her illustrious dance career and embark on a new chapter as a teacher of classical dance at her alma mater, the Petrograd Choreographic School. This transition marked the beginning of her extraordinary pedagogical legacy.
