This romantic story about a fatal handsome man, Rene Dexter, an assassin, and the naive stained glass artist, Ellion Blanket, included explicit erotic scenes and a dynamic plot. Despite some stylistic flaws, the novel attracted numerous readers and sparked lively discussions online.
The novel, initially intended as a standalone work, became part of Melan's main series, "City." The novels in the "City" series take place in a world composed of different levels connected by portals controlled by a special Commission. In this world, nobody is born or ages, and death occurs only as a result of a mistake. The main goal is to move from a lower to a higher level.
In 2010, Veronika Melan fully devoted herself to her writing career. Her next novel, "Dreams LTD." (Corporation of Dreams), also received mixed reviews, with a noticeable majority of enthusiastic praise. The release of novels in the "City" series continues, with the highest number of positive reviews received for two volumes of "Game of Realities" – "Drake" and "Bernard," as well as the novel "Chaser."
