Early Life and Education

Vasily Lukhanov was born in Mayli-Say, Kyrgyzstan, and exhibited a passion for music from a young age. In 1985, he graduated from the Bishkek State Conservatory with a degree in vocal performance.

Professional Debut

Lukhavov made his professional debut in 1985 as part of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. He went on to join the A. Maldybayev Opera and Ballet Theatre (Frunze) in 1986 and the M.P. Mussorgsky St. Petersburg Academic Small Opera and Ballet Theatre in 1991.

Leading Roles at the Mariinsky Theatre

In 1994, Lukhavov became a soloist at the prestigious Mariinsky Theatre, where he made his debut as the Grand Inquisitor in Verdi's "Don Carlo." Over the years, he has performed numerous leading bass roles on the Mariinsky stage, including:
