Early Life and Career

Édouard Cadol was a French playwright and novelist who began his career in 1864 with the debut of his play "La germaine." This production met with considerable success.

Collaborations and Success

He went on to collaborate with Édouard Foussier and Jules Barbier on "Le Maître de la maison," and authored several other notable plays, including:

"Les ambitions de Mr. Fauvel" (1867)

"Les Inutiles" (1868-1869), which had an extended run of over 200 performances

Partnership with Jules Verne

From 1871 to 1872, Cadol collaborated with Jules Verne on the stage adaptations of several of his novels. However, only the play based on the lesser-known work "Un neveu d'Amérique" made it to the stage. Cadol's adaptation of "Around the World in Eighty Days" remained unfinished, and a later adaptation by Adolphe d'Ennery would become the basis for the renowned play.

Literary Prowess
