Victor Andrusiv: Ukrainian Political Scientist, Public Figure, and Public Activist

Early Life and Education

Victor Andrusiv was born in Ukraine. He pursued his undergraduate studies in History at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv from 1994 to 1999. Subsequently, from 2002 to 2004, he obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration at the Academy of State Governance under the President of Ukraine. Andrusiv furthered his education by completing postgraduate studies at the same institution between 2005 and 2010, earning a Doctorate in Public Administration.

Professional Career

Throughout his career, Victor Andrusiv has held various positions of responsibility. From 1998 to 2002, he served as an assistant-consultant to a member of Ukraine's parliament. In 2004-2005, he became the Deputy Director of the Institute of Political Education. From 2006 to 2010, Andrusiv was the Deputy Chairman of the Darnitsky District State Administration in Kyiv. In October 2010, he was appointed as the Chairman of the "Eidos" Center.

Andrusiv has also pursued professional development opportunities, attending training courses at the Theodor Heuss Academy and Clausenshof in Germany. He is the founder of the "Higher Political School - New Principles of Leadership."

Public Activism

Victor Andrusiv has actively participated in civic engagement throughout his life. He is a member of the Public Council of the Darnitsky District State Administration in Kyiv. He also serves on the Public Council on Access to Public Information and Protection of Personal Data at the office of Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights. Andrusiv played a key role as the founder and chairman of the "Eidos" Center (formerly known as the Center for Political Studies and Analytics) from 2005 until the present.

From 2015 to 2016, Andrusiv chaired the National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine. Since April 2017, he has held the position of Chairman of the Public Council of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.

Political Involvement

Andrusiv has been involved in local politics as a deputy of the Darnitsky District Council in Kyiv during the 4th and 5th convocations. He served as the chairman of the commission on budget and socio-economic development. In 2014, he ran for office in the Kyiv City Council but finished second in his electoral district.

International Collaborations

Andrusiv is an expert for the Council of Europe Program on "Enhancing Local Democracy and Supporting Local Self-Government Reform in Ukraine." In this capacity, he has contributed to local governance initiatives and reforms in Ukraine.
