Louis Feuillade was a renowned French director, screenwriter, and producer. Initially pursuing a career in theater, he worked as a set designer and costume maker. He later found success in stage management at the Théâtre du Hippodrome on Montmartre.

Collaboration with Éclair Films

Feuillade began his filmmaking journey with Éclair Films, collaborating closely with Georges Hatot. Together, they embarked on the popular adventure series "Nick Carter, King of Detectives," which gained significant traction in 1908.

Serial and Crime Dramas

Feuillade's notable works include the six-episode serial "Dr. Phantom" (1909) and the Biblical epic "Herodias" (1911). He further cemented his reputation with the iconic "Fantomas" series, featuring the detective Paul Brochard and the criminal organization "Zeta."

Trilogy of Zigomar Films

Utilizing the immense popularity of "Fantomas," Feuillade directed the successful "Zigomar" trilogy. The first installment, "Zigomar" (1910), depicts the infamous thief's confrontation with detective Polain Botrel.
