Early Life and Education
Viktor Kuznetsov is a Ukrainian long and triple jumper. His career began under the tutelage of Alexander Dmitrievich Saksin, and he currently trains under Valerii Terentievich Gredunov. Kuznetsov graduated from the Brovary Higher College of Physical Culture and the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky State Pedagogical University named after Hryhoriy Skovoroda.
Athletic Achievements
Kuznetsov holds the world indoor junior record for the long jump with a distance of 8.22 meters. Notably, he has achieved personal bests of 8.25 meters in the qualifying round of the European Championships in Gothenburg and 16.92 meters indoors at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham.
In addition to his indoor prowess, Kuznetsov has also excelled outdoors. He won the bronze medal at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Grosseto and finished eighth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a jump of 16.87 meters.
Major Triumph
Kuznetsov's career reached a peak at the 2010 European Team Championships in Bergen. In his first attempt, he unleashed a remarkable jump of 17.26 meters, surpassing world indoor record holder Teddy Tamgho and renowned long jumper Phillips Idowu. This victory cemented his status as a force to be reckoned with.
Personal Life
Kuznetsov has resided in the city of Brovary since 2003. He represents the sports society "Dynamo" (Kyiv Oblast).
