Biography of Moscow Virtuosi
The State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" is a Soviet and Russian orchestra, renowned as one of the best chamber orchestras in the world. It was founded in 1979 by Vladimir Spivakov, who is the founder, chief conductor, soloist, and the artistic director of the orchestra.
International Recognition
Since its establishment, the orchestra has gained international acclaim, starting with its performances at international festivals. In 1982, the orchestra officially received the name "State Chamber Orchestra of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR 'Moscow Virtuosi'". The orchestra has been participating in the International Music Festival in Colmar, France, since 1989, with Vladimir Spivakov serving as the artistic director of the festival.
Global Tours
In 1990, upon the invitation of Prince of Asturias, the orchestra toured Spain while continuing to perform throughout Russia and the rest of the world. However, in 1999, the collective permanently returned to its homeland. Since 2003, the Moscow International House of Music has been the rehearsal base for the orchestra, with Vladimir Spivakov being one of its founders.
