Early Life and Career
Vitaliy Vernydub was born into a family with deep ties to football, as the son of former player and coach Yuri Vernydub. He honed his skills at the youth academy of Zaporizhzhya Metallurg under the guidance of coach Oleksandr Rudyka. In the 2007/08 season, he spent the first half on loan at Kryvbas, making his Ukrainian Premier League debut against Dynamo Kyiv on March 10, 2007.
Stint at Metallurg
Vernydub returned to Metallurg, where he played for several years, helping the team secure 11th place in the 2008/09 season and reach the quarterfinals of the Ukrainian Cup in 2009/10. However, the 2010/11 season proved challenging, as Metallurg finished in last place and was relegated to the First League.
Transfer to Zorya
In December 2011, Vernydub made the move to FC Zorya Luhansk, signing a five-year contract. He became a key player for the club, helping them finish seventh in the 2012/13 season and reach the final of the Ukrainian Cup in 2015/16.
Time at Gabala
In June 2015, Vernydub crossed borders to join Gabala FC in Azerbaijan. During his tenure, he contributed to the team's success, helping them win the Azerbaijan Premier League in 2016/17 and the Azerbaijan Super Cup in 2017.
