Early Life and Education

Vitol'd Petrovsky was born on February 27, 1986, in Sosnovyy Bor, Kolomensky District, Russia. His mother, Tatyana Iosifovna Semenova (maiden name Petrovskaya), was a confectioner, and his father, Vitold Vitoldovisch Kolyakov, was a military serviceman. From first to fourth grade, Vitold attended Sosnovo-Borskay School in a military town. Following his family's relocation to Kolomna, he studied at School No. 10.

Musical Beginnings

Vitold spent considerable time with his grandparents in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, where he began his singing lessons at the Children and Youth Creativity Center. His first vocal teacher was the Center's director, Nikolai Evdokimovich Polivod. At the age of 10, Vitold made his debut performance at a children's vocal competition in Zhytomyr.

Vocal Accomplishments

In 1999, Vitold placed second in the "My Talents" Children and Youth Creativity Festival. He went on to win the "Pearl of Crimea" International Festival in the "Pop Vocal" category. In the "Stars on Stage" television competition (Kyiv), he secured second place.

Musical Influences and Inspirations

Despite his training in choral conducting, Vitold's true talent lay in singing. He possessed a strong vocal range and excelled in various musical genres. However, his primary focus was on lyrical ballads. His music is characterized by themes of sadness, longing, and solitude, reflecting the personal challenges he has faced throughout his life, including the loss of his younger brother and the tragic death of his wife.

Martial Arts and Other Interests

Apart from music, Vitold has a passion for sports. He has trained in boxing, soccer, and table tennis. However, his heart belongs to Kyokushin Karate. In 2009, he won first place in the Cayman All-Russian Tournament in Category "B." He earned his first dan (black belt) in 2017, passing the examination under IFK Vice-President, David Pitchell. His fascination with karate is reflected in his distinctive hairstyle - a ponytail, a symbol of Japanese samurai.

Current Career

Currently, Vitold continues to tour with his solo program and participate in concerts and festivals. He is also working on his debut solo album, much anticipated by his numerous fans. In addition, he signed a contract with Grigory Leps' production center in 2020.

Music and Beyond

Since 2007, Vitold has been a member of the rap group "D.L.S." He has collaborated with Ilya Kulikov, Ivan Denisov, and Nikita Tikhonov in producing songs such as "Where Life Leads" and "Reason for Being." He has also recorded songs independently, like "Tears," "Truth of Life," and "Kokushinkai Karate," an anthem for the martial art.

Vitold has made guest appearances on television programs and participated in concerts and creative evenings hosted by Eldar Ryazanov. In 2011, he performed the soundtrack for Sergei Makhovnikov's film "Quiet Outpost." In 2012, he played the role of Kai in the musical "Frozen Heart," based on Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen."

Vitold gained broader recognition in 2013 as the "People's Star" on the "Live Sound" project on Russia-1. The following year, he was a contestant on the show "Artist." In 2015, he was a participant in the fourth season of the "Voice" project on Channel One, where he was coached by Grigory Leps.
