Ukrainian Economist and Educator
Education and Early CareerA distinguished Ukrainian economist, Oleksiy K. Malykhin holds a Doctorate in Economics and the title of Professor (2002). He graduated from the Kyiv Institute of National Economy in 1965 with a specialization in Finance and Credit. From 1965 to 1967, he worked in financial organizations before pursuing his postgraduate studies (1968-1971). In 1972, he earned his Candidate of Economic Sciences degree in Finance, Money Circulation, and Credit.
Academic Career
From 1970 to 2001, Dr. Malykhin taught at the Ternopil University of Finance and Economics (now Western Ukrainian National University). In May 2001, he joined the Academy of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, where he held positions as an Associate Professor and Professor in the Department of Tax Policy and Taxation. Additionally, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the Ternopil University of Finance and Economics (2002-present).
Dr. Malykhin actively participated in scientific conferences on taxation and conducted research projects commissioned by the State Tax Administration and Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. He supervised graduate students and undergraduates, guiding their research and teaching courses on International Tax Systems and Scientific Foundations of Fiscal Administration.

Dr. Malykhin has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly works, including textbooks, monographs, and articles. His notable publications include:

Academic Accomplishments
Dr. Malykhin's academic contributions have earned him recognition and honors. He is a Laureate of the Yaroslav the Wise Award from the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine and holds the title of "Excellent in Education of Ukraine." As of 2013, he had supervised 20 doctoral candidates and participated in the evaluation of 24 dissertations, including eight doctoral dissertations.
