Biography of Vladimir Astapkovich

Vladimir Astapkovich is the chief of the State Automobile Inspection (UGAI) in the Donetsk region. Born on March 13, 1970 in Brest, Belarus, he began his career in the internal affairs bodies in 1996 after serving in the Armed Forces for seven years. From 1996 to 2002, he worked as an inspector and senior inspector in the Traffic Police Department in Donetsk. From 2002 to 2005, he served as the commander of a separate battalion of the Traffic Police in Donetsk. From 2005 to 2011, he held the position of chief of the Motor Vehicle Registration and Examination Office (MREO) in Donetsk.

In August 2011, Astapkovich became the deputy of Alexander Rubtsov, the chief of the State Automobile Inspection in the Donetsk region, who passed away on September 13, 2011.

Married with a daughter who is a student and a three-year-old son, Astapkovich enjoys reading books by Koretsky, Shitov, and Abdullaev.
