Academic Career and Education

Born into a family of intellectuals, Viktor Ivanovich Bolshakov followed a path in academia. His mother headed the Department of Nutrition Hygiene at a medical institute, and his uncle, K.F. Starodubov, was a renowned scientist.

Bolshakov graduated with honors from the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute in 1969, specializing in Metallurgical Engineering and Heat Treatment of Metals. He furthered his studies at the Kuibyshev Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, earning his Candidate of Sciences degree in 1973.

Dnepropetrovsk Engineering and Construction Institute

In 1972, Bolshakov joined the Dnepropetrovsk Engineering and Construction Institute. He rose through the ranks, becoming its rector in 1987. Under his leadership, the institute evolved into the currently known Pridneprovsk State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
