Biography of Vladimir Bozhko
Vladimir Bozhko is a Kazakhstani government official, serving as the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2007. He is also a Lieutenant General in the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a candidate of legal sciences and an associate professor.

Early Life and Education
Vladimir Bozhko was born on May 16, 1949, in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. In 1971, he graduated from the V.I. Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute. He then served in the ranks of the Soviet Army from 1971 to 1973. Following his military service, Bozhko worked as a plumber, engineer, and senior supervisor at the Alma-Ata Electrotechnical Plant from 1973 to 1975. In 1976, he completed his studies at the Higher Courses of the KGB of the USSR in Minsk.
Career
From 1976 to 1989, Bozhko worked in investigative positions, including as an operative officer, senior operative officer, division chief of the second department, and inspector for the Inspection of the KGB of the Kazakh SSR. He also served as the chief of the third department of the KGB of the Kazakh SSR. From 1989 to 1991, he held the position of Deputy Chief of the Regional Department of the KGB in the Tselinograd region.
In the following years, Bozhko held various leadership positions within the National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan. He served as the chief of the Regional Department of the KNB in the Kokchetav region from 1991 to 1993, and then in the Eastern Kazakhstan region from 1993 to 1994. From 1994 to 1997, he was the chief of the Main Department of Economic Security of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He later became the First Deputy Chief of the Second Department of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 1997 to 1998, and then the Chief of the Second Department from 1998 to 1999.
From 1999 to 2001, Bozhko held positions in the private sector, serving as the Vice President of Jetson Trading LTD and the director of its representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In December 2001, he became the First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On November 13, 2007, by the decree of the Head of State, Bozhko was appointed as the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has been serving in this position since September 4, 2007.
