Born and trained in the USSR, he graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). He joined the Belarusfilm studio in 1962, becoming a member of the Communist Party five years earlier in 1947.

Recognition

His exceptional contributions to the film industry were recognized in 1979 with the prestigious title of Honored Art Worker of the Byelorussian SSR.
