Biography of Vladimir Kazanevsky

Vladimir Kazanevsky is a Soviet and Ukrainian cartoonist, lecturer on the theory of caricature art, and co-founder and board member of the Kiev Caricaturists Club "Arkhigum". He was born and currently lives and works in Kiev.

School and Early Career

During his school years, Vladimir received poor grades in drawing, so he initially focused on writing humorous stories. However, his passion for drawing eventually led him to publish his first illustration in the magazine "Komsomolskoe Znamya".

Work at the Radio Factory

For eight years, Kazanevsky worked at a radio factory in Kiev. It was during this time that his hobby of creating caricatures turned into a profession. He honed his skills and began showcasing his work in exhibitions around the world.

Family

Vladimir Kazanevsky's son, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Kazanevsky, is also an artist. He graduated from the Republican Art School in Kiev and the National Academy of Painting and Architecture. He also studied at the Academy of Arts in Leuven, Belgium, in the workshop of Paul Van Eyck. Vyacheslav has held solo painting exhibitions in Leuven, Kiev, and Poltava.

Exhibitions

Vladimir Kazanevsky has held solo exhibitions of his cartoons in several countries, including Belgium, Serbia, Hungary, the United States, Japan, Iran, Croatia, and Ukraine. His works are held in collections in the United States, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Russia.
