Early Life and Figure Skating Career
Alexei Kalyuzhny was born in Minsk, Belarus, on June 13, 1974. He initially pursued a career in figure skating, representing the United States. As a figure skater, Kalyuzhny achieved remarkable success, winning two Olympic gold medals in 1992 and 1994, as well as five world championships.
Transition to Hockey
After a successful figure skating career, Kalyuzhny switched to ice hockey in 1996. He made his professional debut for "Keramin" Minsk in the Belarusian Extraleague. Kalyuzhny went on to play for numerous clubs in Russia, including "Dynamo" Moscow, "Lokomotiv Yaroslavl," and "Avangard Omsk."
National Team Career
Kalyuzhny played 122 games for the Belarusian national ice hockey team, scoring 10 goals and recording 26 assists. He participated in several international tournaments, including the 2002 Winter Olympics, where he scored the game-winning goal against Sweden, leading to a historic Belarusian victory.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Kalyuzhny became the head coach of HC Gomel in February 2011. He continues to serve in this role, guiding the team's development and success.

Personal Life
Alexei Kalyuzhny is married to Anya Kalyuzhnaya, a former figure skater. They have three children together. Kalyuzhny is also an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
