Growing up, his older sister became his primary caretaker and mentor, inspiring her young brother to pursue a life in the arts. While his parents worked as engineers, they were not involved in theater. Despite the family's modest upbringing, Selivanov developed a strong desire to perform, attributing it to an unknown spark within him.
Education and Early Roles
Upon moving to St. Petersburg with his sister, Selivanov initially considered careers in healthcare, music, and clowning before finally settling on acting. He graduated from the Academy of Theatrical Arts and joined the renowned Maly Drama Theatre as a third-year student.

Since joining the Maly Drama Theatre, Selivanov has remained loyal to the institution and its legendary director, Lev Dodin. He has become known as the theater's "right-hand man" and a symbol of its artistic excellence. Despite harboring a secret desire for the role of Hamlet, Selivanov has embraced the characters he has been given, including kings, clowns, and enigmatic figures.

In 2003, Selivanov debuted in the television series "National Security Agent," gaining wider recognition. He went on to star in numerous historical dramas, crime procedurals, and romances on television. His film credits include the horror film "Chevengur" and the romantic comedy "Status: Free," where he starred alongside popular actors Danila Kozlovsky and Liza Boyarskaya.
