Early Life and Education

Volodymyr Sverzhyn was born in Ukraine. His path to adulthood was marked by unconventional experiences. In 1981, he was expelled from high school for "hooliganism." Despite his expulsion, he later completed his secondary education through a school for working youth.

Military Service and Active Years

Sverzhyn served in the Baltic Fleet during his military service. Upon his return to civilian life, he worked in various roles, including as a journalist, bodyguard, and heraldic specialist. He actively participated in political events between 1987 and 1991.

Martial Arts and Interests

Throughout his adolescence and adulthood, Sverzhyn pursued a keen interest in military history, heraldic art, and literature. He also excelled in martial arts such as boxing, wrestling, karate, and fencing.

Literary Debut and Breakthrough

Sverzhyn's literary debut occurred in 1982 at a workshop for young authors in Kharkiv. In 1996, he was tasked with editing a raw manuscript for a novel. Impressed by the author's predicament, Sverzhyn penned an entirely original text in a short time. This marked the birth of his career as a science fiction writer.

Fantasium and Genre Amalgamation

Between 1997 and 1998, Sverzhyn released four novels, including "Seeking the Battle," "Chariots of Fortune," "Law of the Unicorn," and "Detective." His science fiction works blended the elements of "hard" science fiction and fantasy, creating a unique and captivating blend known as "Fantasium."
