Early Life and Education

In 1978, Konstantin Tumanov graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography (LGITMiK) with a degree in directing. His mentors were esteemed professors Z. Kogorodsky and L. Dodin.

Career

From 1980 to 1990, Tumanov served as the Artistic Director of the Vilnius Russian Drama Theater. In 1990, he joined the Maly Drama Theatre as a Second Director.

In addition to his work at the Maly Drama Theatre, Tumanov has directed productions at numerous venues in St. Petersburg:

- 1992: "Moon Wolves" by N. Sadur (Youth Theater on Fontanka)

- 1995: "That Other Light" by A. Kazantsev (Teatr na Vasilevsky)
- 1996: "Tanya-Tanya" (Satire Theater on Vasilyevsky)

"Tanya-Tanya" garnered the prestigious "Golden Soffit" Award. Tumanov has participated in the International Theater Festival in Helsinki and has been nominated for the "Golden Mask" Award in the categories of "Best Performance" and "Best Director."
