Biography of Vladimir Yashchuk

Vladimir Yashchuk is a Ukrainian local historian and poet who has made significant contributions to the field of regional studies. He has collaborated with regional print media and national Internet publications, sharing his extensive knowledge and research on Ukrainian history and culture. Yashchuk is also an esteemed educator, currently teaching local history at the Radiviliv General Education Lyceum.

Yashchuk's passion for local history and literature began during his formative years in the town of Klevan, near Rivne. He completed his secondary education at Klevan Secondary School No. 2 and went on to pursue a degree in philology at the Rivne Pedagogical Institute. Since 1973, he has been actively involved in the press, working for various publications in Dubrovytsia, Radiviliv, and Rivne.

In addition to his career in journalism, Yashchuk served in the military at a rocket base near Moscow. This experience broadened his perspective and deepened his appreciation for history and cultural heritage. Yashchuk's dedication to preserving and promoting local history led him to become the editor and later the deputy editor of the Radiviliv District Newspaper.

Yashchuk's literary works and research have gained recognition both locally and nationally. He is the author of the book "Radiviliv" (2004), a collection of materials exploring the local history and heritage of Radiviliv. His writings on local history have also been published in various anthologies, almanacs, and newspapers. Yashchuk's poems have been featured in the literary magazine "Pohoryna," and he has also translated the works of Russian poets.

Yashchuk's dedication and expertise have earned him prestigious memberships and awards. He is an honorary member of the National Union of Local Historians and a laureate of the regional local history award "For Reviving Volyn." He is also a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and has been recognized for his contributions with a Diploma from its Secretariat.

In addition to his literary and academic pursuits, Yashchuk has compiled literary almanacs for the Radiviliv General Education Lyceum, which have been published annually since 2002. These almanacs showcase the creative talents of the lyceum's students and contribute to the cultural enrichment of the community.

Yashchuk's literary works include poetry collections such as "Mezha," "Rubai," "Solar Keyboards," and others. His keen eye for photography is evident in the photo album "Lychakiv Cemetery: A Chance Gaze," which captures the unique beauty and historical significance of this Lviv landmark.
