Vladislav Golubok
Life and Career
Franciszek Aliakhnovich was born on a railway station near Baranovichi, Belarus, into a railroad worker's family. From the age of 13, he worked as a store clerk and later as a clerk on the railway.
Theatrical Beginnings
Aliakhnovich began his artistic career in 1906 or 1908. He wrote for the Belarusian newspaper "Nasha Niva" and created over 40 plays, including melodramas, comedies, farces, and vaudevilles. Some of his notable works include "On the Bereza River," "Morning," and "Mists."
Theatrical Leadership
Aliakhnovich was instrumental in the establishment of the Belarusian national theater. He served as the artistic director and director of the Belarusian State Theater and was honored as the first People's Artist of the Belarusian SSR in 1928.
Repression and Rehabilitation
In 1937 or 1942, Aliakhnovich was unjustly repressed and executed. However, in 1957, he was posthumously rehabilitated.
