Biography of Will Pemble
Will Pemble, an American father of two, is known for building roller coasters in his backyard. Born and raised in the United States, Will lives in San Francisco with his wife and their two children, Lyle, aged 10, and Ellie, aged 12.
Building Roller Coasters for His Children
Will's desire to show his children that anything is possible if they work hard led him to embark on this ambitious project. Despite the challenges involved in constructing a roller coaster, Will, who is an amateur physicist, approached the project with expertise. As the Pemble's backyard was not particularly large, the focus was on building the roller coaster vertically instead of horizontally.
From the beginning, Will's children assisted him in the construction process. However, they could hardly believe that they would soon have their own roller coaster. Nevertheless, Will successfully completed the project in 2013, and a massive attraction grew in the Pemble's backyard, attracting visitors from the entire neighborhood. Will used pipes for the tracks, which had to be procured in large quantities.
Overcoming Challenges and Sharing the Joy
The roller coaster, however, faced some setbacks during its initial launch, with the structure nearly collapsing on multiple occasions. Despite these challenges, the Pemble family remained resilient and made the necessary improvements to ensure its proper functioning.
Will invested 300 hours of work and nearly $3,500 into the construction of the roller coaster. Despite the time and financial commitment, Will has no regrets, as the process brought happiness to his family and created lasting memories. Will drew inspiration from his children's reactions, knowing that his son and daughter would never forget this time and the roller coaster their father built for them.
A Potential Business Venture
When asked if he would build similar attractions for others, Will did not rule out the possibility, as it could potentially become a business opportunity. Currently, the Pemble's backyard in San Francisco houses their own roller coaster, where a red cart speeds along the thrilling tracks, filled with the sounds of two incredibly happy children - Lyle and Ellie. Will admits that his greatest loves in life are his family, physics, and fun, and his new roller coaster encompasses all three.
