William Baldwin, born on February 21, 1963, in Massapequa, Long Island, New York, USA, is an actor who gained recognition for his role in the 1989 crime drama "The Preppie Murder." Growing up in a family of Irish Catholics, William, also known as Billy, developed a love for sports and athletic competitions from a young age, being the son of a football coach. As a student at Alfred G. Berner High School, he joined the school's football and baseball teams. He also participated in wrestling, an interest that continued into college.
William attended the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1981 and earned a degree in politics four years later. Inspired by his brother Alec's success, William decided to pursue an acting career. He became known as a member of the Baldwin acting family, which includes Alec, Daniel, and Stephen Baldwin. His breakthrough as an actor came after his role in the 1989 crime drama "The Preppie Murder."
