William Rondina: A Visionary American Designer
Early Education and MentorshipWilliam Rondina honed his craft at the University of Washington, Sorbonne in Paris, and the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City. He then gained invaluable experience as a design assistant to acclaimed firms Ben Zuckerman and Christian Dior.
Founding Carlisle Collection
Driven by a passion for impeccable design and personalized service, Rondina envisioned a unique concept in 1980: offering stylish, timeless attire and accessories exclusively through private appointments to discerning businesswomen. This revolutionary idea filled a void in the market and soon came to life.
The Connaught Group, Ltd.
In 1981, Rondina founded The Carlisle Collection, an American design company bringing together a skilled team of designers, manufacturers, and sales professionals. As Chairman and CEO of The Connaught Group, Ltd., Rondina oversaw the innovative Carlisle and Per Se collections, as well as the affiliate Etcetera.
Personalized Luxury
"I am proud," said Rondina, "to provide couture-level garments with a personalized level of service, cutting out the middleman and offering an unparalleled experience to our clients. Today, more than ever, our customers value our exceptional quality and are willing to pay twice as much as they would in a retail store."
Fabric of Hope
Annually, the Carlisle Collection design team creates unique silk scarves for sale, with all proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Since 1998, the Carlisle Collection's Fabric of Hope program has raised over $1,600,000 for the organization's mission to save lives from cancer and end breast cancer forever.
Civic Engagement
William Rondina is an active member of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Hall and the Board of Directors for the New York Botanical Garden.
