Early Life and CareerWilly Brokamp was born in the small village of Chevremont near Kerkrade, Netherlands. His football journey began at the tender age of 8 when he joined the youth team of MVV Maastricht. He progressed through the ranks, making his debut for the senior team at the age of 18. Despite his impressive skills, he could not play for the team until he turned 15 due to Dutch legislation.
Breakthrough at MVV
Brokamp's first season with MVV was a resounding success, as he scored 10 goals in 28 appearances. Over the next 10 years, he became an integral part of the team, making 318 appearances and scoring 122 goals. His performances earned him widespread recognition and a transfer to the prestigious Ajax.
Time at Ajax
Brokamp spent two memorable seasons at Ajax, scoring 20 goals in 48 matches. His time there was marked by both success and personal accolades, solidifying his status as one of the most talented forwards in the Netherlands.
Return to MVV
In 1976, Brokamp rejoined his boyhood club MVV. During his 1.5-year second stint with MVV, he made 36 appearances and scored 17 goals, proving that he had lost none of his predatory instincts.
