Early Life and Education

Wincenty Drabik was born on November 13, 1881, in the town of Jaworzno. He began his artistic journey at the Kraków School of Fine Arts under the tutelage of prominent artist and playwright Stanisław Wyspiański and renowned painter Józef Mehoffer. He would later continue his studies in Vienna.

Theatre Career in Poland and Russia

Upon completing his education, Drabik found work as a set and costume designer in the theatre in Lwów and subsequently in Warsaw. In 1915, he moved to Russia, where he began designing for Polish theatre groups touring in Kiev and Moscow.

Innovative Designs for Ballets

Drabik's artistic prowess was particularly evident in his balletic productions. He created memorable sets and costumes for numerous ballets, including:
