Her parents, of Mexican descent, chose the traditional name "Sochil," which means "flower" in the Nahuatl language. Growing up in a predominantly Mexican neighborhood, Sochil's childhood was filled with the Spanish language and the culture of her heritage.
Passion for Acting
Her passion for acting became evident at a young age. At the age of five, Sochil graced the stage in a school production of "The Little Mermaid," based on the Disney animated film. Throughout her elementary school years, she participated in over 20 plays.
Film Debut and Early Roles
At the tender age of 10, Sochil embarked on her film career with small roles in commercials and television series. She graced the silver screen in short films primarily produced in California. On May 2, 2022, Sochil made a global impact as she stepped into the role of America Chavez (Miss America) in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," based on the Marvel comics. Her character, a teenager from a parallel universe, possesses the superpowers to fly at supersonic speeds, traverse dimensions, and wield immense strength and durability. Notably, the film's creators preserved the character's lesbian identity from the comics.
Departure from "The Baby-Sitters Club"
Due to her commitments to "Doctor Strange," Sochil's role as Don Schafer was passed on to another young actress of Hispanic descent, Kyndra Sanchez, for the second season of "The Baby-Sitters Club." In March 2022, it was announced that the series had ended after two seasons.
