Yana Solomko was born on July 7, 1989, in Chutove, Poltava Oblast, Ukraine. Her family consists of her mother, an entrepreneur, and her younger brother, David. From a young age, Solomko displayed a passion for music. At the age of 8, she began performing in children's vocal competitions, including the prestigious "Chervona Ruta" festival and the television contest "I Want to Be a Star." At 13, Solomko was admitted to the specialized vocal school "Chervona Ruta" and moved to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. She studied there for two years before returning to Poltava and enrolling in the music college. Solomko excelled in her studies and progressed to the Faculty of Folk Vocals. However, after completing the second year, she transferred to the Kyiv Higher Music College.

Musical Journey

Solomko's dream was to participate in the popular television project "Karaoke on Maidan." At the age of 15, she moved to Kyiv and spent seven hours on the show's set. Her talent caught the attention of producer Igor Konдратyuk, who invited her to participate in the American television program of the same name. In 2006, Solomko appeared on the show "Chance." After her performance, Konдратyuk invited her to join the international collective Glam. Although the group disbanded before making a significant impact, Solomko continued to pursue her musical aspirations. In 2010, she co-founded the band "Iron Pills," but this project also proved unsuccessful.

Solomko then decided to take a break from her music career and participated in the television show "The Bachelor." Her participation led to an offer from singer and producer Natalia Mogilevskaya to join the female collective REAL O. This marked a fruitful period in Solomko's musical journey. The group released several popular songs, including "Elka," "Without Him," and "Luna." In 2014, Solomko left REAL O to pursue a solo career. She released songs such as "Hymn of a Happy Woman," "Boga ya," and "I'm After You," as well as a cover of the hit "I'm After You" by Bianka.

In 2020, Solomko released the mini-album "Bez yada" and the song "Navsegda tvoya SOYANA." She currently collaborates with the company "Pervoe muzykal'noe izdatel'stvo," which has worked with artists such as Ivan Dorn and Dima Monatik. Solomko has adopted the stage name Soyana and continues to release new music, including the singles "Ce la vi," "Dim," "Kariye glaza," "Ogni goroda," and "Neobyknovennaya."

Television

Solomko's popularity soared in 2011 after she appeared on the first season of the television project "The Bachelor." Her reserved and charming demeanor won the hearts of viewers, and she quickly gained a large number of fans. Solomko's singing voice and natural personality set her apart from the other contestants. Although she reached the finals and was predicted to win, the bachelor ultimately chose another contestant.

In 2016, Solomko became the host of the sixth season of the program "Weighted and Happy" ("Zvazheni ta schastlivi"). Her empathetic and engaging style resonated with viewers, and she actively supported the participants in their weight loss journeys. Solomko's non-professional status as a presenter only added to her charm and authenticity.

Personal Life

Solomko has been open about her struggles after losing the "The Bachelor" competition. For a long time, she questioned the validity of her elimination and whether it was solely the bachelor's decision. Despite the initial disappointment, Solomko and the bachelor maintained a friendly relationship, which faded over time.

On May 16, 2014, Solomko married Oleg Solodukhov, a Donetsk native involved in maritime transport operations. The two met overseas, and their wedding ceremony took place on the exotic islands of the Dominican Republic. Solomko had no prior knowledge of the impending nuptials. Within a few months of meeting Solodukhov, Solomko realized his potential as a lifelong partner, father to her children, and soulmate.

A year after their wedding, Solomko and Solodukhov welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kira. The birth took place in Miami, Florida, USA. The couple planned to have more children, with Solomko hoping for three younger sisters for Kira.

Solomko has many interests outside of music, including fitness, swimming, psychology, and esoteric literature. Her mystical aura adds to her unique appeal as a performer. During her participation in "The Bachelor," Solomko gained some weight, which became a topic of discussion on social media. However, she later regained her ideal figure through a vegetarian diet and exercise regimen.

In 2019, Solomko filed for divorce from Solodukhov. The news of the separation shocked her fans, but her ex-husband later hinted at a possible affair with American singer Jason Derulo. Despite the change in her marital status, Solomko's fans remained convinced that she was pregnant with her second child. However, she debunked these rumors and soon displayed her post-pregnancy physique in a swimsuit.

After her divorce, Solomko relocated to Russia. She currently collaborates with the company "Pervoe muzykal'noe izdatel'stvo" and has adopted the stage name Soyana. The singer has a large following on social media, where she shares updates on her personal life and professional endeavors.
