Yiannis Kouros is a Greek athlete and ultramarathon runner who has gained fame as one of the most successful runners in the world. Born on February 13, 1956, in Tripoli, Greece, Kouros grew up in a poor family and had to work from a young age. It was through his early experiences that he realized the power of the human body and the importance of pushing oneself to achieve greatness.

The Journey Begins
Kouros developed a passion for running from a young age and pursued a career as a regular runner in 1972. However, it was in 1977 that he ran his first marathon and achieved an impressive time of 2 hours and 43 minutes. From that moment on, there was no stopping Kouros.
A Legendary Runner
Kouros gained worldwide recognition in 1983 when he became the first person to cross the finish line at the Spartathlon, a 246-kilometer race. Not only did he set an absolute record, but he also finished more than three hours ahead of his closest competitor. Two years later, Kouros set another record in the Sydney to Melbourne Ultramarathon, completing the 875-kilometer distance in just 5 days, 5 hours, and 7 minutes. To this day, his time remains unbeaten, with even the strongest competitors falling hours behind.

After these victories, Yiannis Kouros became undeniably the best runner in the world. He was not only known for his physical strength and endurance but also his intelligence and wisdom. Kouros continues to travel and run, as he cannot imagine his life without the sport that has brought him so much success and happiness.
