Yaroslav Ivanov made his debut in cinema in 1998. It was then that he first appeared in Yuri Mamin's comedy "Gorko!" and Alexander Kolbychev's drama "Hunting for Life" based on the story by Vasily Shukshin. The roles were episodic and naturally went unnoticed by the audience.
Biography
Yaroslav Ivanov was born in St. Petersburg, but spent his childhood in Novosibirsk. As a young man, he returned to his hometown, graduated from a nautical school, but had to say goodbye to his career as a sailor. It was 1991, and the Baltic Shipping Company collapsed, so Yaroslav had to retrain as a laborer. After working on construction sites, Yaroslav got a job as a bartender at Osintsev's restaurant, and after some time, he became an administrator. However, during this time, he never gave up on his desire to get a higher education. The most tempting option for him was the theater.
As often happens, Yaroslav Ivanov was helped by chance. Once, he had to participate in organizing a grand banquet at their restaurant in honor of Maya Plisetskaya. Yaroslav was in charge of filming with the invited celebrities. He recalls: "Suddenly, Dina Morrisovna Schwartz approached me and asked which theater I was from. I told her, "I'm not an artist," and she said, "Don't you want to be? Andrey Tolubeev is currently enrolling in a course." She introduced us, and they told me to prepare a prose piece, two poems, and two fables - they would watch me on stage in a week. And they accepted me."
At first, Yaroslav continued his studies at the Academy of Theater Arts while working at the restaurant. But when he was accepted into the Andrei Mironov Russian Enterprise Theater in 1998, he naturally had to leave the restaurant. His debut in the theater was the leading role in the play "The Picture of Dorian Gray." As someone who was used to good earnings, it was certainly very difficult for Yaroslav. He received only 88 rubles for the performance. And this was despite the fact that the young actor played the lead role! But Ivanov never regretted anything. He was willing to accept earning half as much as other actors, as long as he could work in the theater. Yaroslav worked in the Andrei Mironov Russian Enterprise Theater for about a year, performing in "Dorian Gray" in about 50 shows. However, he had to leave the theater afterwards. The actor himself tells the story like this: One day, Yaroslav fell seriously ill. He called the theater to ask to reschedule the performance, but the management didn't meet him halfway. He performed the show with a high fever and literally lost consciousness behind the scenes. When he regained consciousness, he learned that another play was scheduled for the next day, where he had to portray Leonardo DiCaprio and sing a modified song by Andrei Mironov. This exceeded Yaroslav's patience, and he left the troupe.
Success in Film
Yaroslav Ivanov's debut in film came in 1998. It was then that he first appeared in Yuri Mamin's comedy "Gorko!" and Alexander Kolbychev's drama "Hunting for Life" based on the story by Vasily Shukshin. The creators of the series "Black Raven" were looking for an actor for the role of one of the characters - Nikita. Ivanov was noticed thanks to the "Lenfilm" database. He was invited for auditions. However, when he arrived at the studio, and producer Alexander Kapitsa and director Igor Moskvitin saw him, they both said: "This is Pavel."
The role of Pavel Chernov was played by the actor very naturally. Yaroslav himself says about his character: "I think we have the same life principles." Working on the series "Black Raven" brought Ivanov enough recognition and adoration from the female audience. The reason lies in the actor's undeniable talent and, importantly, his attractive appearance - many noted his resemblance to Leonardo DiCaprio. Yaroslav Ivanov is married. His wife Natasha works as a waitress in a nightclub. Yaroslav recalls their meeting: "We met, I remember it now, on April 26, 2001. I was walking back from the dentist, my jaw was hurting badly, and I could hardly speak. And she was with her sister Masha, they are twins. And I see two identical girls, and they were so beautiful! Anyway, I approached them, introduced myself, asked for their phone number, but they didn't have one. I took it as "get lost, buddy!" But one of them offered to write down my phone number and called me in the evening. That was Natasha." Currently, Yaroslav Ivanov is not associated with any theaters. He occasionally works in various theatrical productions. In addition to theater and film, Yaroslav works in animation. He voices cartoons on Channel One ("Hercules," "Ducklings").
