Early Career and Breakthrough at Ajax

Jesper Olsen, a Danish winger, first made a name for himself at his hometown club Nestved.In 1978, he had a brief stint with Arsenal's reserves, scoring one goal. Dutch giants Ajax attempted to sign him in 1980, but it wasn't until the following year that Olsen joined the Amsterdam-based club.

International Debut and "Cruyff Penalty"

Olsen made his international debut for Denmark in 1980, playing in the 1984 European Championship and the 1986 World Cup.At Ajax, he is best known for his role in the "passed penalty" incident. In a league match against Helmond Sport in 1982, with teammate Johan Cruyff at the penalty spot, Cruyff passed the ball to Olsen, who then passed it back to Cruyff to score.

Time at Manchester United

In 1984, Olsen moved to English giants Manchester United.He made an immediate impact, helping the Red Devils win the FA Cup in his debut season. Nicknamed "De Vlo" (The Flea) for his agility and "The Untouchable" for his ability to evade defenders, Olsen is remembered as a highly talented and elusive winger.
