Biography of Yura Demidovich

Yura Demidovich is a Belarusian singer who gained recognition for his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest for children in 2009. He became known for his song "Volshenyy krolik" (Magical Rabbit). From childhood, Yura dreamed of becoming a professional musician and had a passion for classical music and rap. His favorite artists include Robertino Loretti, Beniamino Gigli, Enrico Caruso, Luciano Pavarotti, and his favorite composers are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Frederic Chopin. Yura is also skilled in playing the piano.

Yura began his musical journey as a member of the Boys' Choir led by Vladimir Glushakov, eventually becoming its soloist. He frequently performed with the choir on tours across Europe. He attended the Gymnasium College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music and graduated in 2014.

In 2009, Yura represented Belarus in the international song contest "Junior Eurovision" and secured the ninth place. In 2010, he held his first solo concert at the Ikra club in Moscow. The same year, he released his album "Kto by vy dumali?!" (Who Would Have Thought?!), which included his famous song "Volshenyy krolik" and other songs written by Yaroslav Glushakov, as well as classical repertoire pieces.

In 2015, Yura enrolled at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, studying choral conducting under the guidance of Stanislav Kalinin and solo singing under Alexey Martynov. He also studied composition under Valery Kikta. After completing the fourth year, he transferred to the department of opera and symphonic conducting under Vyacheslav Valeev, graduating with honors in 2021. Since then, Yura has been working as an assistant intern at the Moscow Conservatory and a conductor at the Moscow Conservatory Opera Theater. In 2021, he served as a conductor and director for Rachmaninoff's opera "Aleko."

In 2022, Yura won a special prize at the S.V. Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers, and Conductors held in Moscow. He has conducted the Concert Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory and the orchestra of Moscow Conservatory students for performances featuring Denis Matsuev.

Despite his success, Yura made the decision to stop performing "Volshenyy krolik" in 2010, stating that he needed to grow creatively and not remain stagnant. The song had faced criticism and controversy, leading to negative reactions from some institutions and individuals. Yura released a remix of one of his album songs, "Dusha" (Soul), in 2011, which was made by the group Synops from Kishinev.

Yura Demidovich's musical journey has been marked by his unique blend of classical and contemporary influences, and he continues to explore and evolve as a musician and conductor.
