Early Life and Career
Oleg Luzhny, a Ukrainian footballer, was born in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, on August 5, 1968. His first coach was Lyudvig Andreyevich Shubin.
Playing Career
Oleg Luzhny excelled as both a midfielder and defender. He played for the Soviet Union's Olympic team and made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in 1993.
Club Career
Luzhny made a significant contribution to Dynamo Kyiv, scoring the club's first goal in the Ukrainian Premier League in 1992. He went on to play for Slavia Mozyr, Arsenal, and Tavriya Simferopol in the Ukrainian Premier League. He also played in the Russian First League, winning the tournament with FC Uralan Elista in 1997.
International Career
Luzhny represented his country twice with the Ukrainian national team. He made his debut in 1993 against Lithuania and played again against Croatia the same year.
Coaching Career
After retiring from playing, Luzhny embarked on a coaching career. He worked with Ukraine's youth teams and coached FC Slavutych Cherkasy. He is currently an assistant coach for the Ukraine U16 national team.
