Early Life and Education
Yuri Grubnik was born into a theatrical family in Kiev, Ukraine, on September 20, 1960. His passion for acting ignited early on, and after graduating high school, he traveled to Moscow to pursue his dream at the prestigious Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School. Under the guidance of renowned mentor Vladimir Bagratovich Monakhov, Grubnik embarked on an illustrious theatrical career.
Theatre Career
In 1981, at the tender age of 21, Grubnik joined the Noginsk Drama Theater, where he has remained a prominent figure to this day. The theater, now known as the Moscow Regional Drama and Comedy Theater, boasts a diverse repertoire that has allowed Grubnik to showcase his versatility. Over the decades, he has graced the stage in acclaimed productions of plays by Anton Chekhov, Nikolai Gogol, Grigory Gorin, and Ray Cooney.
Film and Television
Grubnik's film debut came in 1982 with a supporting role in the television film adaptation of "Teresa's Birthday." After a long hiatus, he returned to the screen in 1999 with a starring role in the crime drama "Stairway to Heaven." In the years that followed, he established a prolific television career, appearing in numerous mainstream series such as "Soldiers," "Sklifosovsky," "The Trace," and "Iщейка." Notably, he portrayed the chief physician in the medical drama "Land 03" and delivered memorable performances as Pavel in the series "On the Trail of the Beast" and "The Decembrist."
Personal Life
Grubnik has kept his personal life private, but it is known that he is married and has a grandson. The actor stands at 180 cm (5'11") tall, speaks fluent German, and is an accomplished guitarist.
Recent Works
In 2020, Grubnik celebrated his 60th birthday, receiving accolades from his colleagues and fans. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, he remained actively involved in his craft. He starred in a leading role in the prequel to the "Policeman from Rublyovka" series, titled "Militiaman from Rublyovka," and also appeared in the comedy-drama series "Helium-3." In 2021, he graced the big screen in the full-length comedy "Snow Maiden Against All."
