Yuriy Karasik: Ukrainian Businessman and Statesman
Yuriy Mykolayovych Karasik was a distinguished Ukrainian economic and state figure recognized as a Hero of Ukraine.
Early Life and Career
Born on July 27, 1939, in the town of Kozelets, Chernihiv Oblast, Karasik graduated from the Bila Tserkva Agricultural Institute in 1961 with a degree in veterinary medicine. He commenced his career as the head of the veterinary department in Kozeletskyi Rayon, Chernihiv Oblast.
Agricultural Leadership
Subsequently, Karasik served as a lecturer at an agricultural technical school in Lipetsk Oblast and as the head of the department of the agricultural technical school "Peremoga" in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Business Ventures
In 2001, Karasik embarked on entrepreneurship, becoming chairman of the board of PJSC "Aleksandrivka Breeding Plant" in the village of Chubinske, Kyiv Oblast. In 2002, this enterprise formed the basis for the establishment of CJSC "Agro-region Breeding Plant."
Business Dispositions
From 2005, Karasik initiated the sale of his businesses. He sold the Hnedynskyi Dairy Plant to the Austrian dairy conglomerate Noem AG in 2006. In August 2008, the "Agro-region Breeding Plant" was acquired by the Swedish investment fund East Capital Holding AB.
Removal from Leadership
At a meeting on February 13, 2009, the shareholders of CJSC "Agro-region Breeding Plant" dismissed Yuriy Karasik from his position as chairman of the board.

Karasik was married and had two sons and a daughter.Legacy
