Oleg Goncharuk: From Entrepreneur to Political Leader
Early Life and EducationOleg Goncharuk was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. He graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Oil and Gas with a degree in Oil Pipeline Construction.
Business Success
In 1997, Goncharuk founded Ligos LLC, a company specializing in the production of bakery and confectionery products. He has served as the company's CEO since its inception.
Political Career
Goncharuk entered politics by becoming a deputy on the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, representing the "Front of Changes" faction.
Governorship of Ivano-Frankivsk
On September 9, 2014, President Petro Poroshenko appointed Goncharuk as head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (RSA). He succeeded Andriy Trotsenko in this position.
Separation from Business
To comply with Ukrainian law, Goncharuk announced on September 24, 2014, that he and his family had severed all ties with Ligos LLC. This move effectively ended his business involvement while holding public office.
