Biography of Vyacheslav Minzyanov

Early Life and Education

Vyacheslav Minzyanov was born on March 29, 1956, in Kazan, Russia. He graduated from the directing faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in 1979.

Career in Television and Film

Minzyanov established himself as a renowned television journalist and producer. In 1987, he created the film "Do Not Close Your Door" for the "Ukrtelefilm" studio, which received a Special Prize at the All-Union Film Festival in Ashgabat. As a producer, Minzyanov was involved in numerous films and television series, including "Sisters by Blood" (2006), "My Mom Is Snow Maiden," "Extraterrestrial," "Everyone Must Die," "Presumption of Guilt" (2007), "Carps," "House, Sweet Home," "Several Ghostlike Days" (2008), "About Love" (2009), "Smile When Stars Cry" (2010), "Island of Useless People" (2011), "Under the Gun of Love," "My Friend's Bride," "Time of Sins," and "Millionaire" (2012).

Death

On November 7, 2020, Minzyanov was found dead in his home. He had reportedly complained of chest pain the previous evening.

Public Advocacy

Minzyanov demonstrated his support for human rights and creative expression. In 2018, he signed an appeal by the European Film Academy calling for the release of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who had been imprisoned in Russia.
