Early Life and Education
Yuri Zigsser was born on June 28, 1960, in Lviv, Ukraine. After graduating from the North-Western Polytechnic Institute (Saint Petersburg) with a degree in Electronic Computing Machines, he worked as a professional programmer, systems analyst, and project manager from 1977 to 1994.
Career in IT
In 1992, Zigsser founded and became director of the company "Reliable Programs," specializing in software development for electronic banking technologies. Notably, the company developed "Program 35," a system for customer service in banks that gained widespread adoption.
Establishment of TUT.BY
Under the auspices of Reliable Programs, Zigsser launched the Belarusian portal TUT.BY in 2000. The portal became a significant player in the Belarusian internet landscape and has remained active to date.
Awards and Recognition
Zigsser's contributions to the Belarusian internet were recognized in 2002 when he was named Person of the Year in Belarusian internet at the Fifth Belarusian Internet Forum.
Expansion and Partnerships
In 2006, Zigsser became a founder of the first Belarusian digital newspaper, "Yezhednevnik." He established RelSoft in 2007, focusing on offshore programming and later founded PR in Internet (ETC) and the internet advertising agency Web Expert in 2008.
Academic and Business Contributions
Zigsser has served as a lecturer at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and a trainer at business schools. He has authored textbooks, a book on online marketing, and numerous articles in Belarusian and Russian periodicals.
Personal Life
Zigsser is married to Yuliya Chernyavskaya, a candidate in cultural studies and a specialist in cultural anthropology. Their daughter, Evgeniya Chernyavskaya, holds a degree in Information and Communication from BSU and has worked at TUT.BY.
