In 2000, Karim joined the design team at PayPal, where he met his future business partners, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. Max Levchin later offered him a position in the technical department. Despite not being able to attend lectures at the University of Illinois, Karim continued his education remotely and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2004.

The YouTube project was created by three PayPal employees, including Jawed Karim. The idea for the famous video-sharing platform was conceived in Chad Hurley's garage. In 2005, the website's domain was registered, and the first video uploaded was one by Karim himself, filmed at the San Diego Zoo.

In a remarkable turn of events, Google acquired the YouTube website, paying a significant sum of money. Recently, Karim established a foundation with the main goal of helping students bring their business ideas to life. Achieving such overwhelming success by the age of 30 is not common, but Karim has managed to do so.
