Early Life and Education
Zara Phillips was born on May 15, 1981, as the second child and only daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. As the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, Zara was sixth in the line of succession to the British throne at the time of her birth. She attended Gordonstoun School in Scotland, where she excelled in hockey, athletics, and gymnastics. Zara later graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Physiotherapy, specializing in equine physiotherapy.
Equestrian Career
Following in her parents' footsteps, Zara Phillips became an accomplished equestrian. In 2005, she won gold medals in both the individual and team events at the European Championships in Blenheim. She went on to triumph at the World Championships in Aachen, claiming gold in the individual event and silver in the team competition. Zara's Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games culminated in a silver medal in team eventing.
Marriage and Family
On December 21, 2010, Zara Phillips announced her engagement to England rugby player Mike Tindall. The couple married on July 30, 2011, at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland. Together, they have three children: Mia Grace (born 2014), Lena Elizabeth (born 2018), and Lucas Philip (born 2021).
Public Service and Charity Work
As a senior member of the royal family, Zara Phillips actively participates in charitable initiatives. She is a patron of INSPIRE, an organization dedicated to spinal injury research and treatment. Zara has also supported various children's charities and the 16-24 club, which promotes youth involvement in equestrianism.
Fashion Design
In 2009, Zara Phillips launched her own line of equestrian clothing in collaboration with Musto. Named ZP176 after her competition number, the line was designed to cater to the needs of riders of all levels.
