Early Life and Martial Arts Beginnings

Zaur Javadov, a prominent Latvian kickboxer, was born on December 21, 1986, in an Azerbaijani family. Originally from Azerbaijan, his family relocated to Latvia when Javadov was young. At the age of 4, he began training in Kyokushin karate under Irina Abramova. Javadov excelled in karate, winning several local tournaments and becoming a two-time Latvian champion.

Transition to Karate and Kickboxing

When Javadov was 12, his karate club closed. He then started practicing Ashihara karate under Tatiana Alexeyeva, where he became a five-time Latvian champion. At the age of 18, Javadov's talent was recognized when he was invited to a week-long training camp in K-1 with renowned fighters like Vitaly Okhrimenko.

After this experience, Javadov developed a passion for K-1 and began training under Saulius Seikis. He became a multiple champion of Latvia and the Baltic region in amateur K-1. In 2005, he decided to fully transition to professional kickboxing.

Professional Career

In 2009, Javadov focused on individual training in kickboxing. In 2016, he embarked on professional group training with his colleague, Vyacheslav Tevins. Due to his impressive knockout streak in 2017, Javadov earned the nickname "Latvian Ninja."

European and World Titles

In 2007, Javadov made his mark by defeating Estonian opponent Edwin-Erik Kibus at the Salamandra club in Riga. In 2009, he became the WKA European K-1 champion in the 79 kg weight category after knocking out Rene Clasen in the first round.

In 2016, Javadov captured the European kickboxing title in the welterweight division by defeating Rodrigo Ferreira, marking his second continental championship belt. He also emerged victorious at the Tallinn Kickboxing Championships in Estonia twice.

Notable Battles

Javadov has faced some of the toughest opponents in the sport. In 2014, he battled against Muay Thai world champion Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov in Russia. Despite a challenging fight, Javadov demonstrated his resilience and determination. In 2016, he defeated Tommy King in the first round and later overcame Edwin-Erik Kibus in a rematch, showcasing his mental fortitude and unwavering spirit.
