Zazie was born on April 18, 1964, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. She received her nickname from the main character of the famous novel "Zazie in the Metro". Her mother was a music teacher, while her father worked as an architect. Music played a significant role in her upbringing, with the entire family enjoying the recordings of Jacques Brel. Zazie developed an interest in music at a young age, starting violin lessons at 10 years old. She later taught herself to play the guitar and piano.

Rise to Fame


In 1990, after several years in the fashion industry, Zazie began her musical journey. She signed a contract with the record label "Phonogram" in 1991 and released her debut album, "Je, tu, ils," in 1992. The album was recorded at Peter Gabriel's studio. Unlike other musicians in her genre, Zazie was not only interested in music but also in the entire album creation process, from songwriting to mixing and producing. The album became a huge success, and the following year, Zazie received the award for Best Young Pop Singer at the "Victoires de la musique" awards ceremony.

Zazie's second album, "Zen," also gained popularity, reaching the 8th position on the French charts. Over the years, her fame continued to grow, extending far beyond France. Her third album, "Made in Love," reached the 3rd position in France and the 17th position in Belgium. Four out of Zazie's eight albums achieved platinum status, and two received gold certification.

Recent Work


Zazie released her latest album, "Cyclo," in 2013, which debuted at the 3rd position on the French charts. She has also released three live albums: "Made In Live," which achieved silver status, "Ze Live!!," certified gold, and "Rodéo Tour," which did not receive any certifications.

Today, Zazie has severed most of her ties with the fashion world and focuses on creating her own music.
